Chuck Smith has 17 years of experience in the scientific equipment and medical device industries. He has designed X-Ray sensors and emitters, intra-oral video cameras, chemiluminescence and florescence imagers, and miniature analog controls. He developed algorithms for laying out illumination in 4000 square foot commercial greenhouses as well as the design of computer-controlled microscopes with 4.5 micron pixel images. Chuck holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley and has taught classes in new product development at both the HAAS school of business and the mechanical engineering department.
