Creating Collisions of Value: Optimizing Big Company/Little Company Strategic Partnerships
Monday, Oct 2nd • 4:00 PM-5:00PM
The concept of creating “collision of value” is about building an ecosystem where high potential startup companies interact with valuable partners along their journey. These companies could be large strategic partners, payers, OEMs, investors and more. “Collisions of value” can be planned or serendipitous.
Planned collisions include a formal email introduction, or a business development director reaching out to mentor an early stage startup company on how to get ready to get funded. It could be a startup CEO’s presentation to an industry group which sparks interest from a technology scout sitting in the crowd.
Serendipitous collisions are similar interactions that happen more by chance but not by luck. Putting yourself at the right place at the right time and being fortunate enough to meet a new mentor, or a potential investor. Participating in an industry event where the world’s experts in a niche market gather, listening to a few of them speak, and then introduce your startup to the speaker to get their reaction to the value propositions you are building into your business model, is a great way to sharpen an entrepreneurs tools helping them to break into a new space.
During this two-part panel session and pitch round, MPR and M2D2 will provide real world examples of how these “collisions” have resulted in mutually beneficial partnerships from sr. executives at the company themselves. The presentation is more than just war stories, you’ll hear best practices on how to navigate a partnership from both the big and small company perspective from some of the companies who have successfully pulled this off.
Then, in part two from 4:00PM-5:00PM, start up medtech companies will present elevator pitches, specifically aimed at creating partnerships with strategic investors.
